2004

10th-24th July
Wonderfully spacious house & gite with total privacy-absolute get away from pressures. Weather has been mixed but have been able to swim & sunbathe every day. Storms were mighty impressive. Have been visited, both on the terrace & by the pool by a very friendly, greedy thrush- hope whoever comes next enjoys this as much as we have. Towards the end of the holiday it has been very hot & pool has been much used. Shop in Serignac is great - bread wonderful. The Intermarche just before Fumel is very good-much better than the Leclerc. Local restaurants are limited & I would not advise visiting 'Les Voisins', unless 1, you are prepared to DIY some, not particularly good BBQ scraps, 2, love mixing with Dutch people & 3, don't mind about value for money. Got up too late to visit Libos market but Friday market in Prayssac is very good. Puy L'Eveque is a waste of time. We have had 'Astronomic Gastronomic experiences on the terrace with up to 10 people, made so easy by the brilliant selection of cooking equipment-if only all holiday lets were like this !
Tonight is our last night & we're sitting by the pool watching the swallows dive for a drink, circles in the water & beautiful evening, sunlight over the lavender ! The pool is as purple as the lavender-must be the gin !
Thank you Steve & Tessa for a wonderful time .
Robin & Heather Moore, friends & family.
24/07/04-31/07/04
The pictures of this place do not do it any justice. We have had a fantastic week here, & wish it could have been longer. We would recommend, Chez Henri for dinner -the food & service was fantastic. Make sure you book canoeing & horse riding early to avoid disappointment. The wine-tasteing is also highly recommended. Mostly though, we have enjoyed a thoroughly relaxing week, with great weather-very grateful for the 'horizonless' pool. Thank you so much for letting us stay, I suspect we will be back. Sally Birghenough, 26.
Beautiful sense of solitude, with enough for anyone to have their own kind of holiday. Cicadas & butterflies, swallows & deer. Rolls of hay, lavender & ivy ! A Wonderful welcome to the South of France ! Ian Sandes, 31.
So much thought, care & love has gone into putting this house together that it is a true pleasure to stay here. The pool esp. so fantastic. Phil Denison 10 (?)
Love all the art & literature around. An Amazing week- Sue Renifol (21) He he.....
Truely, truely jealous of the life style-it's a set up to be proud of. The pool at night with the vaguely space aged feel was missing just one thing-an enormous plasma screen to watch some of newest Dirk Diggler movies. Kai Duggal , 24.
This is the most amazing place/house I've ever stayed in ! "Ansolutely fantastic" is the most appropriate way to describe it ! Had the best week, wish we were here for longer.....next time 2 weeks definitely ! Came all the way from Sydney, Oz to join family & friends which is a long way but worth the travelling time, Cheers Caroline Penison 32 xxx
24th July-1st August
Brilliant for camping in the garden. Very good rented bikes from Vire-sur-Lot.
This place has everything-beautiful house & setting, biking, horses, canoeing & fantastic blues down in Touzac... Bikes were really useful, even just nipping to Serignac for the fresh morning bread-just watch out for the hills....
Wonderful, relaxing holiday in lovely surroundings, & the weather was perfect- who could ask for more ! Joan Saunders.
1st-14th August
4 Adults, 6 children  aged between 2-8 years old. During a wonderful 2 weeks we have loved the markets-Puy L'Eveque & Prayssac, swimming in the lake near Tournon, a delicious dinner in the square at Tournon where children of all ages rose to the occasion. A kind waitress opened wide doors onto the cobbled street enabling the children to play between courses. Truely delicious food.
Cahors was interesting & well worth a visit, on a slightly cloudy day. I can't fault the house-it is superbly finished & appointed, thanks to Steve & Tessa for entrusting us with their beautiful house. Lizzie Pickering, Oxfordshire.
