Full on !

Well, we are in full preparation mode ready for the on coming season. The bookings are pretty complete, so we are happy about that, considering the present financial situation. The spring has been very strange, weather wise, very hot over the Easter period, then reverting to winter temperature & after all that, the wettest it has ever been. We have never had so much rain. The results are showing now with the fullness of a floral spectacle. The roses around the house have come into their own. Here are some photos, which speak louder than words. There is a selection of orchids, burnt tip, man, military etc., cowslips, the hoopoe trying to come into our bedroom & general round & about snaps. I hope you enjoy them.

Ahhh. The Spring.

With such joy, we see the beginning of the Spring, starting with the Grape Hyacinths, the Apricot blossom & the Wild Daffodils . The first Swallow scout appeared on the 10th of March, which even for here, is a bit early, his friends arrived about the 21st, preceded by the Hoopoe & the Cuckoo. What joy !! Once it starts, everything seems to break into flower/blossom. Here are a few photos of the flora. The orchids will be along fairly soon.

These lovely little grape Hyacinths just pop up in the meadows.

A few photos...

Ruby at the end of the bouledrome.
The long awaited 'en-suite' in the main bedroom, & not too intrusive. A great convenience !

Freeze over Hooray !!!

At long last the big freeze is over. Although we only had about 5 cms of snow on the Sunday, it stayed for a good 2 weeks. The worst nights, it went down to -15 degrees C, & it only rose above zero during the daytime, a couple of days ago. Not my idea of fun. It was impossible to work outside, & on our current restoration project, so we were confine to barracks. We had to shut down most of the house & concentrate on heating just the living room & our bedroom. Madly looking for things to do inside, I suggested an en-suite in our room. So we now have a discrete loo & wash hand basin in our bedroom tucked away behind lovely old walnut doors. A great improvement, for our benefit &, for your summer guests.
